The magnificent Parliament Buildings was the setting for the climax to Movilla High School's 80th Birthday celebrations, when a large number of parents, staff, governors, friends and past pupils arrived in style for a Gala Ball hosted by Mr Mike Nesbitt MLA. The prestigious event comes at the end of a series of major fundraising and high profile celebrations marking 80 years of the school which have included a major Fashion Show, Musical celebration evening, Coffee Morning for past and present staff and pupils, a fascinating exhibition of photographs and memorabilia spanning the generations, a special school Assembly and the burial of a time capsule in the school grounds.
Two major charities benefitting from the birthday celebrations, The National Austitic Society N.I. and Autism N.I. were also well represented at the Gala Ball and funds raised will be distributed to continue their valuable work. The birthday celebration events were kindly sponsored by Peninsula Print & Design, Newtownards.
