Principal's Welcome
Welcome to our website which is undergoing comprehensive review to ensure there is much more information available for those accessing the site via computer, tablet or other mobile device. We look forward to hearing your feedback on our Facebook page and hope that you will learn much about the valuable work that this is done daily in the school, enriching and nurturing our pupils and preparing them for the future.
Welcome to Movilla High School website and thank you for your interest in our school. We trust that you will find the information useful and that you will be able to gain an insight into our priorities for the pupils in our care and how we aim to prepare them for the adult world.
Education has changed immensely in the last year and the evolution of online, remote and blended learning, has created challenges for all our pupils, staff, and parents. As ever, however, we have risen to those challenges in support of the continuation of the learning and emotional wellbeing of our young people.

We have been delighted by the progress of our students especially in the past 4 years, resulting in 100% 5 or more GCSE A* - C passes in the last two years. The commitment, dedication and resilience of both staff and pupils has brought tremendous rewards for the whole school community.
We are also pleased that after so many years of doubt, review and uncertainty, the Education Authority has now secured the future of the school and that their long term aim is to create a new-build 11-18 campus for the young people of Newtownards.
We take great care in the pastoral provision made for our pupils and encourage them to develop into confident, articulate, considerate and aspirational young men and women, capable of taking their place in the community and using their knowledge and skills to build focused career paths. Our Registration teachers and Learning Co-ordinators are strongly committed to our ethos of “developing the whole individual” and encourage our pupils’ regular attendance, consistent punctuality, pride in their own and the school’s identity and respect for each other and for the whole school community who share in shaping their futures.
They are supported by a highly committed teaching, ancillary and support staff team. Our Key Stage 3 curriculum gives a broad and balanced foundation in all the Areas of Learning in preparation for an extensive Key Stage 4 curriculum offering a large range of academic, applied and vocational GCSE and Level 2 qualifications, which will open doors for further study post -16.
Please take the time to review the content of our website and regularly log-in to our Facebook page to see the latest news and successes from the pupils and staff of the school which we hope you will be able to share with your wider audience of family and friends. It is important to us, that we gain an insight into how we can improve our site and I would encourage you to get in contact and let us have your thoughts.
Thank you again for your interest in Movilla High School
